We’re coming at you with another hot debate: egg on a pizza! Although probably less controversial than pineapple on pizza (it’s a no for us), many people have strong opinions about using an egg as a pizza topping. Perhaps, especially now given the rising egg prices…
We, of course, are a little biased because our signature Mulino pizza has a baked egg on it (in addition to San Marzano sauce, arugula, mozzarella, and prosciutto). And trust us, it’s delicious. See, eggs aren’t just a breakfast food!
We love eggs on pizza because they add a layer of creaminess that offsets an acidic tomato-based sauce. The yolks give pizza a richness that, when broken and combined with cheese, takes pizza to a whole new level. And who doesn’t love some runny #YolkPorn?! Just think of it like eggs on toastβit’s really not so different.
So, we want to know what you think. Are you team egg on pizza on no? Let us know in the comments!
