At Mulino, we love our wine! We thought it would be fun to share a curated approach on how to drink wine. Take a look below to learn more.
First, if you are new to wine, get a recommendation from your server. If you are planning to pair your wine with a certain dish your server can point you in the right direction for what will taste best. After you’ve selected your bottle or glass it’s time to taste the wine! (Our favorite part!)
Take your time when tasting wine and note the array of flavor notes. To drink the wine, take a small sip and swirl the wine in your mouth, so you can fully absorb the flavor with your taste buds. You can hold the wine for about five seconds, then swallow, and savor the aftertaste. Fine wines linger on the palate for longer. This is especially true when drinking red wine.
If you’re at a formal wine tasting event, you may have to spit it out into the spittoons provided. We occasionally host wine dinners, so if you are interested in wine, sign up for our newsletter here.
We hope to see you soon for a little vino! Let us know if our tips have helped in your wine-drinking journey. As always, if you have any questions about wine, your waiter will be happy to assist you. Make your reservations for your next dinner with us today!
