In honor of the official start of summer, we’re highlighting a super refreshing and tasty cocktail this week! Called The Italian Ice, this summer sipper is made with vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon, and mint simple syrup.
Naturally, we took inspiration for this drink from the frozen Italian ice treat that’s very popular in Italy this time of year. It comes in all types of flavors, but we decided to stick to the classic lemon. Limoncello, an Italian liqueur made from lemon zest, naturally takes the spotlight in this drink—which also doubles as dessert!
We recommend pairing this cocktail with some of our lighter dishes that are perfect for an alfresco meal on the patio this summer, like our fritto misto and polpo appetizers, risotto and amatriciana, chicken and fish of the day, or pretty much any of our pizzas.
And if you’re feeling really frisky, you could even end your meal with an additional shot of limoncello to keep the lemon party going!
