There is an expression in Italy, “A tavola non si invecchia,” which translates to, “We don’t get old around the table.” It gets right to the heart of the notion that the Italian meal is meant to be an experience of good feelings enjoyed with others—a source of pleasure and relaxation.
At Mulino, we welcome you to sit at one of our tables (inside or out on our fantastic patio!) with your family and friends to enjoy a delicious meal—with a bottle or two of wine, of course—and allow the world to slow down for a bit. After all, we believe that the best time spent with loved ones is over food and drink!
As the summer days get longer, there’s all the more time for you to join us. If you’re coming in with a big group, we recommend getting a few different food items to share. Start with our fresh, housemade traditional bread with olive oil and/or an app or two, then try one of our refreshing seasonal salads (the burrata salad with organic arugula, roasted bell peppers, roasted tomato, olives, and balsamic dressing is a fan favorite!). Order a couple of pizzas and pasta dishes to split with the table, and finish with a decadent dessert and some coffee—or a digestif like the Italians do!
We also recently dropped our summer cocktail menu, and our extensive wine list—focused on Italian estate vineyards including reds, whites, Lamburscos, sparklings, rosés, and more—pairs nicely with all of our dishes.
In Italy, gathering around the table for a meal is a whole affair, so take your time and enjoy each other’s company while also appreciating an amazing dinner and drinks. As you now know, “we don’t get old around the table!” We hope to see you at Mulino soon.
