The weather has finally cooled down enough that we figured it was a great time to release our fall cocktails! We’ve got some fun flavors in store for you this season, as well as some clever names that we think you all will appreciate. Mulino bartender Lorenzo Cyril created our new drinks in such a way that they would complement the flavors coming out of the kitchen, particularly the red sauce pasta dishes that we’re so known for here in our garden of gastronomy. We’ve broken down our new seasonal menu into different flavor profiles so that whether you’re a fan of boozy drinks or sweet selections, you’ll be able to find something you know you’ll enjoy.
Light
Pompelmo Sunset
- Aperol
- Cocchi Americano
- Grapefruit Oleo Saccharum
- Lemon
- Sparkling Wine
Translating to “grapefruit sunset”, this drink balances Aperol, Italy’s sweetest aperitif, with Cocchi American and light grapefruit syrup.
Sweet
Casta Diva
- Belvedere Vodka
- Butterfly Pea Flower Tea
- Creme de Peche
- Lavender
- Lemon
Lorenzo shares that all the new fall cocktails are very spirit-forward, but the Casta Diva is also refreshing with delicate floral notes from the lavender. The base of vodka and peach makes this one of the sweetest drinks on the menu, yet it is very balanced.
After Midnight
- Titos Vodka
- Espresso
- Tonka
- Spiced Mexican Liqueur
An espresso martini variant, After Midnight is a decadent, spicy, chocolatey cocktail made with spiced liquor that leans toward a sweeter profile. Great for dessert!
Amalfi Holiday
- Altos Tequila
- Cointreau
- Cold Pressed Melon
- Smoke & Salt Bitters
- Agave
- Lime
Amalfi Holiday is our refreshing play on a margarita. Made with cold-pressed melon juice and a good amount of tequila, it’s strong but palatable.
Tropico Royale
- Pineapple Infused Rum
- Roasted Banana
- Tiki Bitters
- Agave
- Lime
Lorenzo says that rum always has a sweeter profile. He adds roasted bananas to round it out—and provide something super unique! It’s the perfect balance of Fall and tropical flavors.
Boozy
Fibonacci
- Old Forester Bourbon
- Yuzu Sherbet
- Salted Honey
- Lemon
The Fibonacci is Lorenzo’s umami way of doing a whiskey sour—minus the egg whites. He’s a big fan of yuzu, which adds tartness to the drink, along with the fresh lemon juice. Old Forester is one of the oldest whiskeys out there, and Lorenzo appreciates it for being easy drinking and palatable.
Cinema Paradiso (on tap)
- Citrus-Infused Ford’s Gin
- Campari
- Raina “Numero Uno” Vermouth
According to Lorenzo, a Negroni is about as Italian as it gets. This play on the drink is made from a custom-made Ford’s gin. He calls it a “bartender’s gin” or a “workhouse gin” and their products have won many rewards.
Ford vs Ferrari
- Old Overholt Bonded Rye Whiskey
- Del Maguey Vida Mezcal
- Amaro Montenegro
- Angostura Bitters
The Ford vs Ferrari is a combination of a classic old fashioned and an older cocktail that caught Lorenzo’s eye called the “cash in hand.” He describes it as a split-based cocktail, which helps people bridge the gap between certain liquors and open up the drink to a wider audience. Almost like a smoky old fashioned, it’s the most spirit-forward drink on the new menu. Not for the faint of heart!
