We are participating in Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Restaurant Partnership Program to prepare family-sized meals for families and children served by the Food Shuttle’s COVID-19 emergency response efforts. To support this program and allow the Food Shuttle to expand, please donate at FoodShuttle.org/Restaurants.
About Inter-Faith’s COVID-19 Response Plan

When the Coronavirus began affecting Inter-Faith’s seven-county service area, their response was swift and effective, which is one of the many reasons we have chosen to partner with them. The Food Shuttle team is quickly adapting, leaning into their mission to find innovative, transformative ways to end hunger. Thanks to multiple creative partnerships, they are working hard to ensure children, families, and seniors can access the nutritious meals they need to live healthy, hunger-free lives during this unprecedented time.
The Food Shuttle is actively seeking alternative ways to safely provide meals to those they serve. This includes modified Mobile Markets in a drive-thru model, working with school systems and other community partners to set up additional distribution sites, and the production of additional meals.
Each week their culinary team prepares upwards of 5,000 nutrient-dense, blast-frozen individual meals and 800 family-size casseroles/meals. These meals are being prepared by the culinary team with the assistance of the Culinary Apprenticeship Program students.
Due to the increasing demand for these meals, the Food Shuttle has launched the Restaurant Partnership Program, which serves two purposes: first, it supports locally-owned restaurants, and second, it allows them to meet the growing demand of meals needed. This is where we come in.

Selected partners including Mulino Italian Kitchen and Bar, Rocky Top Catering, Driftwood Kitchen & Bar, Whiskey Kitchen, Relish Craft Kitchen, St. Roch, MOFU Shoppe, UNC Rex, Mandolin, Smokey Dave’s, and more produce casserole or family-style meals (that could be frozen) that feed four to six people (includes: eight ounces of protein, six ounces of vegetables, and six ounces of starch per serving).
For each meal prepared, the Food Shuttle is reimbursing $10.00. The restaurant partners are providing the meals in packaging with appropriate labeling including allergens, instructions, and ingredients. These meals are delivered to the Food Shuttle frozen between Monday and Thursday and then distributed on Fridays to partners throughout their service territory.
Each partner Inter-Faith works with is asked to maintain standard food and healthy safety protocols and provide all staff with a wage of at least $13.50.
We are happy to be able to help those in need during this time. We are proud to partner with Inter-Faith and so many fantastic local restaurants to address the growing food insecurity rate in our area.
We hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause. Learn more at FoodShuttle.org.
