“Giving people a chance.” We are excited to introduce you to Raleigh’s newest nonprofit organization, the Cooper Charitable Foundation! This community-based organization provides housing stability grants for those in need—and they are counting on your support. Mark your calendar for its inaugural fundraiser on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at our sister venue, Melrose Knitting Mill. We will be providing the food, so you know it will be a night to remember.

The June 12 fundraiser is a great opportunity to help improve community members’ lives, as your donation will go directly to those in need of attaining housing or avoiding eviction. Tickets and table sponsorships are available now.
“I’m really excited about this opportunity to help improve people’s lives and address an issue that is near and dear to me: housing affordability and choice.”

About the Cooper Charitable Foundation

Founded in 2023 by John Cooper, president of Cooper Tacia General Contracting in Raleigh, the foundation aims to assist people who need help covering their monthly payments in addition to children who can no longer be in foster care, domestic violence victims, single moms/widows, those who are at risk of eviction, and more. Grants are awarded depending on need and on a case-by-case basis, from one month up to a maximum of six months.
Cooper started the nonprofit in an effort to honor his grandmother, who lived on a fixed income, and his mother, who had a job but at times struggled to pay the bills.
“My grandmother’s unconditional love is the most precious gift anyone has ever given me. So, I started the foundation to honor her, to continue her tradition of helping others”
John Cooper
The Cooper Charitable Foundation has also partnered with Wake Technical Community College’s Fostering Bright Futures program, which helps teens out of foster care go to college; Oak City Cares, which connects individuals and families experiencing homelessness to helpful services; and Healing Transitions, which offers services to those struggling with addiction.
We look forward to seeing you at the event and we are proud to be involved with their first fundraiser. To learn more about The Cooper Charitable Foundation visit CooperFoundation.com. You can also connect with them on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
