Last month, Visit Raleigh hosted travel writer Loretta Berry to give her more insight into the Raleigh food scene and culture. As a result of that trip, we’re excited to share that Travel Awaits just released a “10 Delicious Restaurants To Experience In Raleigh, North Carolina” and it includes Mulino!
Berry touted Raleigh as a foodie destination, with its culinary scene “filled with star power.” She writes: “With a number of award-winning and celebrity chefs bringing their excellence and entrepreneurship to the City of Oaks, it’s no wonder that Raleigh is quickly becoming a favorite destination of people who enjoy authentic cuisine in chic, quirky, and historic locations around the city. It seems that there are fabulous restaurants on every street—too many to mention.”
But Mulino obviously seemed to impress her enough to make the list! She highlighted our pasta and pizza dough, made in-house, from scratch, with local and organic flour and eggs. Berry seemed to particularly enjoy our Margherita pizza, Angella (red wine-braised lamb shank with saffron risotto), and seared scallop fonduta (scallops and Parmigiano crema with Umbrian black truffle).
Located in the historic Melrose Knitting Mill, Mulino is as authentically Italian as they come. The restaurant holds to the philosophical and fundamental tenants of Italian cuisine: great ingredients, great techniques, and authentic recipes.
