Thanks to Julia Sayers of Birmingham Magazine for including us in her dining round up. Julia Sayers knows where to eat in Raleigh and we’re thrilled to have made her list! During her time in North Carolina, Julia hopped around to some of the best dining establishments and watering holes our city has to offer. Here is what she had to say about her time at Mulino Italian Kitchen and Bar…
“And then there’s Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar, a hidden gem that’s more than worthy of praise. The rustic Italian restaurant is known for its fresh housemade pastas and woodfired pizzas. The best way to enjoy Mulino is family-style; order several dishes and share.”
“Start with the Pizza Mulino with prosciutto and a farm egg. For the pasta course, be sure to order the Gnocchi Tartufo with black truffle and the restaurant’s famous lasagna (they also offer a vegetarian version). For the woodfired entrees, the ribeye is big enough to share, or try the fish of the day for a lighter option. End with tiramisu and ask owner Samad Hachby about a Vermouth spritz—it might be his new signature.”
We loved hosting Julia and being named alongside some of the greats in Downtown Raleigh including Poole’s Diner, Bida Manda, Garland, Cortez, Brewery Bhavana, Heron’s at The Umstead Hotel, and Jolie.
In addition to restaurants, Julia also listed some great places to stay as well as spots to enjoy a cocktail or beer including The Guest House Raleigh, The Umstead Hotel and Spa, Watts and Ward, Raleigh Beer Garden, Heirloom Brewshop, Gallo Pelon Mezcaleria, and Neptune’s Parlour. Last but not least, she finishes off her trip with sweet treats from Escazu Chocolates and Videri Chocolate Factory.
Whether you call Raleigh home or are planning a visit, you are going to want to take a look at her full article to plan your next evening out.
